Workshop 1: TV Producers Seminar

The emphasis of the seminar will be on children’s programmes and on promoting creativity in the current Catholic TV production. It will be an opportunity to discover the Asian reality but also to share programmes and experiences with Catholic media professionals from all parts of the world.
Facilitator: Robert Molhant
Robert Molhant was the Secretary General of SIGNIS and OCIC (1979-2005) and President of the Cultural Centre of Cinematographic Animation (Belgium). In that period he was also Consultant of the Pontifical Council for Social Communication. He has published books and articles on media as editor of CINE & Media, OCIC-Info and SIGNIS Media. He was made doctor honoris causa at the Faculty of Social Communication of the Università Pontificia Salesiana in Rome. The driving force behind the TV Producers Seminars, he is currently responsible for the SIGNIS World TV desk and runs its website http://www.catholictv.tv.
Facilitator: Peter Thomas
Peter Thomas is Vice-President of SIGNIS. In 1985, while working for Catholic Communications, an agency of the Archdiocese of Melbourne he formed Albert Street Productions to make value based programmes for public and commercial television stations. In June 2004 he stood down as the Chief Executive Officer for Albert Street Productions in order to concentrate on the creative aspects of filmmaking.
