SIGNIS-Asia Global Children’s Handkerchief Project

Kuala Lumpur, April 9, 2009 (SIGNIS) - SIGNIS-Asia invites SIGNIS members to participate in the first-ever Global Children’s Handkerchief Project which will allow children all over the world to be part of the SIGNIS World Congress 2009.

This Project is open to all children from 3 to 12 years of age in your country, irrespective of gender, race, culture or religion. To participate, all they have to do is to make a hand-print (palm and 5 fingers) with any colour paint on a handkerchief.

The Global Children’s Handkerchief Project will symbolically represent children from various parts of the world (where SIGNIS is working with children) in the SIGNIS World Congress 2009 with the theme: "Media for a Culture of Peace – Children’s Rights, Tomorrow’s Promise". The hand-printed handkerchiefs will be displayed during the opening Eucharistic celebration, and will become an exhibit throughout the Congress.

Global Children’s Handkerchief Project guidelines:

- Each country may send in as many hand-printed handkerchiefs as they wish.
