Relationships, Communication, Knowledge
Rome, February 25, 2014 (SIGNIS) - "Our desire for relationships, communication and knowledge" is fueling the emerging digital culture, said Fr Antonio Spadaro, the first speaker of the SIGNIS World Congress 2014.
Fr Spadaro, editor-in-chief of the Jesuit magazine La Civiltà Cattolica highlighted that the internet is “a space that is populated by human beings” and “can help satisfy the desire for meaning, truth and unity, which remain the most profound aspirations of every human being”, quoting Benedict XVI in his message to the 45th World Day of Social Communications.
The 300 participants of the #SIGNISCongress had further opportunities to deepen their relationships, communication and knowledge during a day that offered 4 workshops on New Media, New Opportunities for ’Social’ Communication, Social Marketing: Positioning, Perception & Participation, Catholic Social Documentary: Past, Present and Future and Cinema and Spirituality.
The evening was dedicated to the memory of Fr Babin, founder of CREC and creator of the "Symbolic way", whose ideas and vision strongly inspired many SIGNIS members.
